last fall in England, I've bought there a movie that I wanted to see for some time, however, had waived on grounds of unjustified and quite painful castration on a purchase and cinema in Germany.
Gamer is probably the only context in which the word "killer game" is not justified. In the near future is the man obsessed with a new video game called "Slayers." In this game, gamers take control of normal flesh and blood participants who shoot each other in various arenas of the pile .. Oh, and all is okay because the characters Slayers in all sentenced prisoners are. So is played basically the same as Death Race , only with a shooter as a template and not Mario Kart
The current hero of Slayers is Kable (no relation to Nathan Summers ), by Gerard "This is Spartaaaa ! " Butler, respectively, Kabler player Simon. But Kable, whose real name I forget, was imprisoned unjustly, and will only return to his family (I'm told it's like Death Race).
The action is really solid and overall the film plays very nicely with the video game aesthetic, but the most interesting about this film is not the shedding of blood. Since I first of Gamer I heard I was fascinated by the set-up, which would give the whole game killer debate a fascinating new twist, if anyone would have noticed in Germany that this film even exists.
This film could easily have become a mindless orgy of shooting, but at least I as a gamer was the universe that Neveldine and Taylor (the guys behind Crank ) have created the most interesting in the film. Not only is the shooter, Slayers, but the game against the success Slayers allowed at all: A Bizzares mirror image of money in the style of MMOs Second Life called society in which real people also real people . Check Only that the "characters" to take part to make money (such as cable woman) and are thereby collected and used by their (anonymous) players in the cruellest way. I thought several times I would like to see the film before the gamers play to see how it came to this nightmare scenario.
also very interesting to gamers, such as cable deal is with the game player Simon. He is a 17-year-old hardcore gamer and he lives in a world in which he himself really without batting an eyelid kill real people.Kable and his wife, an "Avatar" in society
Unfortunately, the film is also not enough on the scenario and the developments that led to one, although there would certainly be something to get out.
Gamer positively surprised me on more than one level, but he could have been much better. I would especially picures, but the film further. He is not as loud, violent and fun as Crank krazt and only on the surface of what is feasible in this setting is, but I had fun and did well after further thought about the movie.
